MHSA Annual Plan 2010/11

Sierra County’s Annual Plan reports on the progress for all five funding components for the voter-initiated Proposition 63 Mental Health Services Act for Sierra County. The Workforce, Education and Training plan addresses the shortage of qualified individuals who provide services in this County’s Public Mental Health System, including community based organizations, consumers and potential volunteers. The Community Services and Supports plan addresses the program shortfalls, allowing county Mental Health services to employ a “whatever it takes” philosophy with clients most at risk. The Prevention and Early Intervention component will allow for the staffing and implementation of an evidence-based Student Assistance Program in the county schools. Capital Facilities and Technological Needs component will allow the county to partner with the school in renovating the Middle School for a potential Teen Center, allowed for the purchase and future renovation of a building intended to be run by and for Mental Health consumers, and allow the county to purchase electronic health records software in keeping with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The Innovations proposal, if approved by the state, will allow for creation of a Teen Center. All public input will been considered, with adjustments made, as appropriate.
